Andrew Joseph Hoying, 28, passed away on Thursday, February 15, 2018 at his home in Columbus, Ohio. Andrew was born on April 13th, 1989 in Celina, Ohio to Joseph and Deborah (Siefring) Hoying. He is survived by his parents; 2 sisters, Allison (Eric) Gaetano, Williamsport, PA and Amanda (Kyle) Ahrens, Coldwater, OH; 1 nephew that he loved, Graham Michael Gaetano; and Paternal Grandparents Donald and Edna (Kremer) Hoying of Celina and his Maternal Grandfather Herbert Siefring of Coldwater. He was preceeded in death by his Maternal Grandmother, Stella (Kunkler) Siefring, and his Aunt, Rhonda Hoying. Andrew was a 2008 graduate of Celina High School and 2012 graduate of The Ohio State University with a Bachelor's degree in Education. Andrew began his teaching career at Franklin Heights High School in Columbus for 2 years and then started his dream job at Gahanna Lincoln High School in Columbus in 2014 where he taught business classes and coached 9th grade boys soccer. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #1800 and Loyal Order of the Moose #1473, both of Celina. Andrew loved his job but mostly enjoyed the students he taught and had a passion for making sure they succeeded. He always had a smile on his face and his laugh could be heard from anywhere. Andrew developed a passion for running and had a special love for his nephew, Graham. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday February 21, 2018 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Celina, with Fr. Kenneth Schnipke C.PP.S.and Fr. Dave Hoying officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Marys Catholic Cemetery in Celina. Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. on Tuesday February 20, 2018 and from 9:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday at the at the Lehman-Dzendzel Funeral Home in Celina. Memorial contributions may be made to the Gahanna Jefferson Education Foundation or the Mercer County Civic Foundation for a 2018 graduate from the Gahanna Lincoln High School.  Condolences may be left at LehmanDzendzelFH.com.
