Betty "Jean" Anderson, age 95 of Celina, Ohio passed away on Monday, January 13, 2025 at Van Crest Nursing Home in Van Wert, Ohio. She was born on August 8, 1929 to the late William and Arvesta (Andrew) Martz in Celina, Ohio. On November 7, 1953 she married Tom Anderson, who died July 19, 1990. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Lynne (Ed ) Fuelling of Celina, grandsons; Colin (Yvette) Fuelling of Celina, Jared (Beth) Fuelling of Sidney, granddaughters; Lauren Fuelling of Celina and Kirsten Fuelling of Celina. She was also survived by two great grandchildren William Fuelling and Katelyn Fuelling, two siblings Steven (Michelle) Martz of Port St. Lucie, Fl. and Patsy Hone of Chicago, IL, nieces Rae Jean (John) Elo of Florida, Cherie Hare of Winter Haven, Florida, Gwen (Keith) Ley of Celina, and nephews: Steven (Josh) Martz of Cincinnati, Ohio, Terry (Sheri) Hone of Rochelle, IL. and Scott Hone of Chicago, IL. Barry (Rita) Anderson of Wapakoneta, Oh, Todd (Beth) Anderson of Saint Augustine, Florida, Doug (Susan) Anderson of Stevenville, Texas, Robin (Kaye) Anderson of Celina, Scott (Jo) Anderson of Celina, and Neal Anderson of Botkins, Oh. In addition to her parents, Jean was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Cletus Hone. Brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Ralph and Betty Anderson, Byron and Garnet Anderson, Kenneth and Olive Miller, and Dillon and Thelma Boroff. Also her nephews, Milton (Linda) and Greg (Judy) Miller and Ron (Cheryl) Hare. Jean graduated from Celina High School. She was a nurse for forty-two years, having worked in Dr. Otis's office and Dr. Finkelmeier's office until she retired in 1992. She also loved babysitting with her grandchildren after she retired. She was a member of the Celina First Church of God, where she taught Sunday School, bible school, and belonged to the Women's organization. She also held membership with the Celina V. F. W. Auxiliary. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and especially going to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren's activities. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 18, 2025 at the Lehman-Dzendzel Funeral Home, with Rev. Craig Flack officiating. Burial will follow in the Mercer Memory Gardens Cemetery in Celina. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Friday, January 17, 2025 and from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. on Saturday morning at the Lehman-Dzendzel Funeral Home.
