Doris Alma Eichler, age 92, of Celina Ohio passed away at 9:35 p.m. on Friday August 18, 2017 at the Celina Manor Nursing Home. She was born on January 3, 1925 in Rugeley, England to the late Harry and Ethel May (Derry) Lyons. Doris met the love of her life, Vernon Eichler, during World War II, in England while he was serving in the United States Army. Vernon preceded Doris in death on December 19, 1989. She is survived by her two sons & daughters-in-law Vernon & Marie Eichler, David and Linda Eichler, daughter and son-in-law Patricia and Bill Pease all of Celina, nine grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, a brother Harry and Anne Lyons of Rugeley, England and two sisters Diane Chattle and Patricia and Jim Causer both of Rugeley, England. Also preceding her in death was her step mother Ann (Bladon) Lyons and a brother-in-law Frank Chattle. Doris was a member of the St. John Lutheran Church in Celina, were she was active in the sewing circle. She retired from the Celina City School as a cafeteria worker after 20 years of service. She enjoyed spending time with her family and she crossed the Atlantic Ocean 32 time to visit in England. Funeral services will be held at 11:00a.m. on Tuesday Aug. 22, 2017 at the Lehman-Dzendzel Funeral Home in Celina, with Rev. Jeff Gramza officiating. Burial will follow in North Grove Cemetery in Celina. Friends may call from 9-11 a.m. on Tuesday at the Lehman-Dzendzel Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made the St. John Lutheran Church .
