Dorothy Ellen O'Brien, 95, of Celina, Ohio passed
away Jan 3, 2017 at the Celina Manor. She was born
August 12, 1921, in Darke County, to Shirley B. and
Florence (Krick) Mc Cabe. She married Foster
O'Brien on July 9, 1944 and he died Aug.6, 1984.
Dorothy is survived by daughters Pamela (Thomas)
Pottkotter and Peggy (Robert) Swaney, both of
Celina, five grandchildren; Kurt (Amy) Pottkotter,
Kimberly (Dan) Crandall, Kyle (Kristy) Pottkotter,
Bret (Jodie) Swaney and Brooke 9Justin) Wellman,
Eight great grandchildren; Joshua, Audrey, Katherine
and Alex Pottkotter, Tyson and Kennedy Crandall,
Foster and Cade Swaney. She is Also survived by
sisters Karron (Marion) Hoskins, Becky (Victor)
French, In-law Jenny McCabe her life-long friend and
aunt Virginia O'Dell, numerous nieces and
nephews.
She is preceded in death by her siblings; Emma
(John) Thomas, Josephine (Ralph) Gabbard, Sam
(Alice) McCabe, Shorty McCabe and Sharron (Dick)
Michael. Dorothy was a graduate of New Madison (Now
Tri-Village) High School.
She retired from Reynolds & Reynolds after 22 years
of service. She was a member of the Grand Lake
United Methodist Church in Celina and the Celina
Order of Eastern Star Chapter #91 and a member of
the United Methodist Women. Dorothy loved her
family, attending sporting events to watch her
grandchildren and enjoyed helping others. She was
an avid sports fan, mainly the Celina Bulldogs and
Cincinnati Reds.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00a.m. on
Saturday January 7, 2017 at the Grand Lake United
Methodist Church (St. Paul's Campus) in Celina,
with Rev. Matt Reynolds officiating.
Burial will follow in North Grove Cemetery.
Friends may call from 2-8p.m. on Friday January 6, 2017 at the
Lehman-Dzendzel Funeral Home in Celina and from
10:00 a.m. to 11:00a.m. on Saturday at the Church.
Eastern Star services will be held at 8:00p.m. on
Friday at the Funeral Home. Memorial contributions
may be made to the Grand Lake United Methodist
Church in Celina or the State of the Heart Care.
