IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Elizabeth Rebecca
(Robinson) Lincoln
September 14, 1924 – February 8, 2020
Elizabeth Lincoln Elizabeth Rebecca Robinson Lincoln passed away on February 8, 2020, at the age of 95. She was born to Grace Fawcett and Harold Lee Robinson Jr. September 14, 1924, in Sutton, West Virginia. She grew up in Sutton and Parkersburg and attended Ohio University in Athens, graduating in 1947 with a Bachelor of Arts degree. In June of that year she married Max Lincoln and settled in his hometown of Celina, Ohio, where she taught before beginning their family. They raised five children in Celina and in Okemos, Michigan, where they moved in 1966. There she attended Michigan State University, graduating in 1972 with a Master of Arts in Education. For twelve years, Libby taught dozens of students to read and when she retired continued to use her gifts by tutoring. Max and Libby retired to the foothills of western South Carolina, where she immediately organized the county: chaired the county library board for ten years, organized and attended book clubs and bridge games, tutored, took art lessons and painted. They traveled extensively across the country and to Europe and New Zealand, fished and boated, and hosted family gatherings. By 2002, they were ready to downsize and moved to a retirement community in Springfield, Ohio, where Max died in 2003. Libby continued her volunteer work, bridge, and active social life for another fifteen years. Libby is survived by their five children and spouses: Kathy Lincoln and Tom Tomczyk of Keizer, OR, Debbie Lincoln and Dan Kennedy of Neskowin, OR, Betsy Lincoln of Cedar Rapids, IA, John and Cindy Lincoln of Naperville, IL, and Cindy Lincoln and Barry Foster of Fairborn; by ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; and by a sister Kay Heathscott of Arkansas. Graveside interment rites will be held at 12:00 p.m., on Saturday, March 14, 2020, at the Swamp College Cemetery in Celina. A Celebration of Life will be held from 1-4 p.m. on Saturday, March 14, 2020 at Romer's Party Room, 1100 S. Main Street (St. Rt. 127) Celina, Ohio. Contributions in her memory can be made to the National Audubon Society ( https://www.audubon.org) or to the Tamassee DAR School (South Carolina; https://www.tdarschool.org/donate/).
