IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Jayne E.
(Wright) Van Dyke
February 25, 1946 – January 18, 2026
Jayne E. Van Dyke, age 79, of Celina, Ohio passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 18th, 2026, at Lima Memorial Hospital with her family at her bedside. She was born the daughter of the late Kenneth Owen and Mary Ellen (Jay) Wright of Troy, Ohio on February 25th, 1946. On March 13th,1965 she made the best decision of her life when she married Harold R. "Roy" Van Dyke who she met in the pig barn at the Miami County Fair while she was in the eighth grade. They shared 60 years of marriage, marked by his unwavering love, patience, and selfless care. Together they have two daughters Chantel (Doug) Rammel of Indianapolis, Indiana and Christel Dzendzel of Celina, Ohio and Steve Dzendzel, Celina, Ohio who was loved as a son. The greatest joy of her life was her grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Mackenzie (Luke) Rolfes, Camaryn (Caleb) Hoyng, Alexis Rammel, and Eliza Rammel; and her three great-grandchildren, Lainey and Karsyn Rolfes, and Coltyn Hoyng. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Bonnie Van Dyke of Celina, Ohio and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Jowetta Wright, brother Jay Wright and sister-in-law Janalyce Reed and infant grandson Bryant Rammel.
She graduated from West Milton High School in 1964 and remained close friends with many special women from her class throughout her life. Fun-loving and full of life, she was always the person family and friends turned to for a text, Snapchat, or phone call. She had a passion for cross stitching, reading and other crafts. She was the world's best non-athletic sports spectator and could always be found at a softball game, tennis or volleyball match, or swim meet, proudly dressed in her team's colors with brownies in hand. The family would like to thank Dr. Jason Steinecker for his compassionate care.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, January 22, 2026, at Lehman-Dzendzel Funeral Home in Celina, Ohio with Rev. Bruce Head officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery in West Milton, Ohio.
