IN LOVING MEMORY OF
John R.
Young
July 25, 1930 – May 23, 2023
John R. Young, ag 92 of Celina, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 23, 2023 at the Joint Township District Memorial Hospital in St. Marys. He was born on July 25, 1930 in Hamilton to the late Brown and Geneva (Young) Young. On October 30, 1964, he married Wilma Sawmiller who survives in Celina. He is also survived by his daughters Glenna (Rick) Clendenen of Seattle, WA, Terrie (Tom) Ellinger of Cincinnati, four grandchildren Tracia (Juan) Ooink, Tony (Lara) Clendenen, Amanda Ellinger, Brian (Kelly) Ellinger, and three great grandchildren Xander, Stella and Lily. He is preceded in death by his parents and grandson Adam Ellinger. John was honorably discharged from the United States Navy in 1950 and then served another six years in the Naval Reserve. He was employed at Huffy's in Celina, holding various manufacturing and management positions during his tenure, ultimately retiring as the Purchasing Manager for the Ohio Bicycle Division. John's main focus in life was his family. Wilma and John were two "peas-in-a-pod" and never far apart. He was a prankster, a jokester, and many times completely full of crap! He loved his family fiercely and provided a great example of a "Life Well Lived." He will be missed terribly. A private family memorial service will be held on a future date. Memorial contributions may be made out to the Grand Lake Hospice 1122 E. Spring St, St. Marys, Ohio 45885. Condolences may be shared with the Young family online at LehmanDzendzelFH.com
