Julia Josephine "Jo" Gabbard, age 84, of 100 Community Dr., Avon Lake, Ohio passed away at 9:10a.m. on Jan 25, 2011 at her residence in Avon Lake, Ohio. She was born on June 17, 1926 in New Madison, Ohio to the late Shirl & Florence (Krick) McCabe. On June 21, 1944 she married William Ralph Gabbard, who died February 2000. Survivors include her Son Brad & Leslie Gabbard of Dublin, Ohio, daughter Jill & Mark Carissimi of Bay Village, Ohio, one grandson Michael Carissimi, three sisters Dorothy O'Brien of Celina, Karron Hoskins of New Madison and Becky French of Greenville. She was preceded in death by her sisters Emma Thomas and Sharon Michaels and her brothers Sam McCabe and Shorty McCabe. She graduated from New Madison High School in 1944. She was a Nurse employed by the Otis Hospital and the Celina Manor. She was a former member of the Eastern Star of Celina #91 and St. Paul's United Methodist Church of Celina. A memorial will be held at 6:00p.m. on Friday Jan.28, 2011 at the Lehman-Hogenkamp-Dzendzel Funeral Home in Celina, Ohio, with Rev. Kim Miller officiating. Burial will be at the family's convenience.
