Kirk Edward Shaffer, age 46, of Celina, Ohio passed away on Tuesday Oct. 11, 2016 at the St. Rita's Medical Center in Lima. He was born on Aug. 4, 1970 in Celina, Ohio to Neil & Viki (Russell) Shaffer. On Oct. 10, 2015 he married Andrea Esmonde, who lives in Celina. Also surviving is his son Kahne Shaffer of Celina, and three sisters and a brother-in-law Lisa and Shawn Steinke, Jen Shaffer and Nicole Shaffer all of Celina. Kirk graduated from Celina High School with the Class of 1989. He was formerly employed at Ferguson in Celina as a forklift operator. He enjoyed spending time with Kahne, playing football and baseball. He was always up for a ride on the motorcycle, taking a trip snowmobiling or going out to the lake to water ski. Kirk was a Cincinnati Reds fan, Tampa Bay Buccaneers fan and an Ohio State Buckeyes fan. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday Oct. 18, 2016 at the Lehman-Dzendzel Funeral Home in Celina, with Pastor Theodore Yewey officiating. Burial will follow in the North Grove Cemetery in Celina. Friends may call from 2-8p.m. on Monday and from 9:30-10:30a.m. on Tuesday at the Funeral Home.
