Margaret Lucille Smith, age 86 of 1307 Queensbury Dr. in Celina passed away at 10:11 a.m. on Thursday Oct. 24, 2013 at the Mercer County Community Hospital. She was born on July 14, 1927 to the late Lenna & Ida Mae (Lanning) Walker in Portland, Indiana. On January 8, 1946 she married Dalton Davis Smith, who died Aug. 14, 2006.
Survivors include her sons & daughters-in-law Michael Smith of Celina, Douglas & Karla Smith of Celina, Randy & Gail Smith of Celina, daughters & sons-in-law Linda & John Arnold of Celina Susan & James Schindeldecker of Celina, Kathy & Gary Yeakle of Indianapolis, Jill & Scott Beougher of Celina, 13 grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, brother Bill & Liz Walker of Portland,IN sisters & brothers-in-law Pat & George Miller of Florida, Jean Ball of Portland,IN and Mable Holcomb of Portland,IN.
She was preceded in death by her son-in-law Charles Butcher, brother Fred Walker, sisters Barbara, Esther Bertke, Inez and Helen.
Margaret was a housewife her entire life, she loved her family and she lived for her grandchildren. She was a member of the Celina Church of the Nazarene.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday Oct. 28, 2013 at the Lehman-Hogenkamp-Dzendzel Funeral Home in Celina, with Rev. Douglas Meyer officiating. Burial will follow in Mercer Memory Gardens Cemetery in Celina. Friends may call from 2-6p.m. on Sunday and 1 hour before services on Monday at the Lehman-Hogenkamp-Dzendzel Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or the Cancer Association of Mercer County.
