Marlene M. (Puthoff) Yaney, age 73, of 804 Hemlock St. in Celina, passed away at 4:33p.m. on Wednesday Dec. 17, 2014 at the Mercer County Community Hospital in Coldwater. She was born on Feb. 7, 1941 in Coldwater, Ohio to the late Harold Puthoff and Helena (Leugers) Puthoff-Harms. Survivors include her daughter & son-in-law Heather & William Applegate of Celina, three grandchildren Colin Applegate, Daniel Applegate, Natasha Applegate, her brothers & sisters-in-law Charlie & Betsy Puthoff of Evansville Indiana, Duane & Carol Puthoff of Celina Mary Puthoff of Celina, and her sister and brother-in-law Karen & Butch Hoffman of Celina. Marlene was preceded in death by her brothers & sister-in-law Donald Puthoff, Larry & Nola Puthoff and James Puthoff. Marlene graduated from Immaculate Conception Catholic High School in Celina with the Class of 1959 and then attended the Wright State Lake Campus for several years while remaining employed at the Dry Cleaners in Celina. Then she went to Ft. Wayne Beauty Academy to become a Beautician in Celina. She took a job at the Huffy's Bicycle Plant, until she retired in 1997 after 32 years of service. Marlene Loved her grandchildren, she was very proud of them and she enjoyed spending time with them. Everyone will remember her sense of humor and her quick wit. Funeral services will be held at 5:00p.m. on Saturday Dec. 20, 2014 at the Lehman-Hogenkamp-Dzendzel Funeral Home in Celina, with Pastor Judy Baker officiating. Friends may call from 1-5p.m. on Saturday at the Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Colonial Nursing Home in Rockford for all of the love and care she received from the Staff.
