Paul Robert Stein, age 96 of Mendon, passed away on Friday, February 9, 2024 at the Miller Place. He was born the son of Ernest and Mary (Stolz) Stein on February 9, 1928 in Dayton. On March 31, 1951, he married Pauline Springer, who died March 13, 2019. He is survived by his loving children Roger (Norma) Stein of Celina, Tim Stein of Celina, David (Annette) Stein of Sidney, Kevin (Sharon) Stein of Ridgeville Corners, Chris (Tammy) Stein of St. Marys, Susan (Dan) Nuding of Mendon, ten grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, two brothers, Dale (Helen) Stein of San Antonio, TX and Kenneth (Janet) Stein of Mendon. Along with his parents, wife, he was preceded in death by his daughter Peggy Sue Stein, one grandchild, four brothers and sisters-in-law Jerome (Vera and Hope) Stein, Wilbur Stein, Eugene (Jeanie) Stein, Gerald (Betty) Stein, and sister and brother-in-law Phyllis (Ralph) Rasawuhr. Paul proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during World War II and the Vietnam War. After retiring from the Air Force, Paul was a carpenter, farmer, and a small business owner in the Celina area. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Celina and very active with the St. John Builders. He served as the Boy Scouts Troop Leader and was the citizen of the year in Celina. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, February 14, 2024 at the St. Johns Lutheran Church, with Rev. Douglas Meyer officiating. Burial will follow in the Swamp College Cemetery with Military Honors provided by the Celina American Legion Post #210 and the Celina Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #5713. Friends and family may call at the Lehman-Dzendzel Funeral Home in Celina from 2:00 P.M. - 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday, February 13, 2024 and at the church from 1:00 P.M. - 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday.
