Robert Dale Lewis went home to Jesus on Thursday, April 8, 2021 at age 89. Bob was born to the late Leonard and Wilma (Zeigler) Lewis on October 31, 1931 in Mendon, Ohio. As a teenager, Bob was interested in cars and how they worked. Bob met his wife, Carol Cron, at the Mercer County Fair. They dated for the subsequent two years and married on July 4, 1952. The family quickly grew to three children, Terry, Sandy, and Jeff. They raised their family and lived in Celina most of their life, moving to Florida at the end of 2019 for the warmer weather and to be closer to family. Bob was employed by Sam Dixon Motors for 38 years, retiring as the Service Manager, then embarked on a second career at Pax Machine Works, ultimately retiring from Pax after 20 years. Bob loved woodworking, everything from renovating house to creating beautiful furniture, including grandfather clocks. He and Carol participated as vendors in many craft shows over the years. Bob was predeceased by his parents, Leonard and Wilma (Zeigler) Lewis and his wife Carol Ann Lewis, Bob is survived by sister and brother-in-law Barbara and William Walls, and his children and their spouses Terry (Carol) Lewis of Middleburg, Fl, Sandy (David) Fritz of Mason, OH and Jeff (Kathy) Lewis of Simpsonville, SC, as well as 6 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Exodus 23:20 "See, I am sending an angel ahead of you to guard you along the way and to bring you to the place I have prepared." A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00a.m. on Saturday, April 17, 2021 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Celina, with Fr. Tim McFarland C.PP.S. officiating. The Mass may be viewed via, live stream at Celina-ic.org and following the services on the Lehman-Dzendzel Funeral Home website, LehmanDzendzelFH.com. Burial will follow in the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Celina. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 4-8 p.m. on Friday, April 16, 2021 at the Lehman-Dzendzel Funeral Home in Celina. All attendees are asked to observe social distancing and wear mask for the safety of all attending services. The family requests that donations be made in lieu of flowers to either Community Hospice & Palliative Care Foundation or Mercer County District Library 303 N. Main St. Celina, Ohio 45822.
