Thelma Francis Henrietta Pax, age 78, of Celina, Ohio passed away on Friday, January 17, 2020 at the Briarwood Village Assisted Living Facility in Coldwater. She was born on August 7, 1941 in Minster, Ohio to the late Wilfred and Eleanor (Puthoff) Fortman. On Aug. 31, 1960 she married her husband Thomas Joseph Pax, who died on Dec. 28, 1995. Survivors include her three children Arleen (Darryl) Sullivan, Brenda Pax, Christopher (Kelly) Pax all of Celina. She is also survived by three grandchildren Cassandra (Wayne) Schaaf of Botkins, Amaris (Farrell) Welch Jr. of Celina and her sister and brother-in-law Shirley (Douglas) Gross of Celina. Thlema was preceded in death by her parents, husband, grandson Kyle Pax and her brother Larry Fortman. She was a military wife and enjoyed raising her family. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Celina and a member of the Altar-Rosary Society at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Celina. She enjoyed traveling, shopping, and attending performances at the Niswonger Performing Arts Center in Van Wert and dinning at the local restaurants in the Celina area. Thelma was also a proud member of the W.I.N.O.S. Club. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, January 23, 2020 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Celina, with Fr. Kenneth Schnipke C.PP.S. officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Marys Catholic Cemetery in Celina. Friends may call from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 22, 2020 and from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. on Thursday morning at the Lehman-Dzendzel Funeral Home in Celina. Memorial contributions may be made to the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church 229 W. Anthony St. Celina, Ohio 45822. Condolences may be shared on-line at LehmanDzendzelFH.com.
