"Tom" Hemmelgarn
August 6, 1950 – September 13, 2020
Tom Hemmelgarn, age 70 of Celina, Ohio passed away on Sunday, September 13, 2020 at the Mercer County Community Hospital in Coldwater. He was born on Aug. 6, 1950 in Celina, Ohio to the late Oscar and Mary (Jansen) Hemmelgarn. On Aug. 14, 1971 he married Vickie Kremer, who survives living in Celina. Also surviving are his three children Adam Hemmelgarn of Cleveland, Erin (Rob) Hein of Sunbury, Jodi (Andy) Weisman of Celina and eight Grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters-in-law Mike (Jan) Hemmelgarn of Celina, Pat (Marty) Hemmelgarn of Celina, Jim (Carol) Hemmelgarn of Celina, Sam Hemmelgarn of Dayton, Barbara Hemmelgarn of Baltimore, MD, Nancy Hemmelgarn of Celina and his sister Peggy Corotis of Columbus. Tom was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Jerry and Jack, a brother-in-law Mark Corotis and sister-in-law Shelly Hemmelgarn. He graduated from Celina Immaculate Conception School with the Class of 1968. He proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1968 - 1970. Tom was employed by Shinn Brothers Construction Company until he retired in 2013. He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Celina, the Celina American Legion Post #210, the Celina V. F. W. Post #5713 and the Mercer County Sportsmen Association in Celina. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and Shooting Clay birds. He loved his Family and his Grandchildren. A Memorial Prayer Service will be held at 10:30a.m. on Thursday, September 17, 2020 at the Lehman-Dzendzel Funeral Home in Celina, with Fr. Kenneth Schnipke C.PP.S. officiating. Memorial Gathering will be held from 9:30 until the time of services. Attendees are required to wear masks, practice social distancing and follow the COVID-19 guidelines established by Governor DeWine and the Ohio Department of Health. Memorial contributions may be made to Grand Lake Home Health through JTD Hospital Foundation. Condolences may be shared with the Hemmelgarn Family on-line and the memorial services will be available on-line following services at LehmanDzendzelFH.com.
