STEVE DZENDZEL

STEVE DZENDZEL

Owner/Funeral Director/Embalmer

Welcome, my name is Steve Dzendzel, I am the proud owner and operator of the Lehman-Dzendzel Funeral Home. I have been an Ohio Licensed Funeral Director since 1992 and have over thirty years of experience in providing professional services to loved ones during a most difficult time in their lives. I made Celina my home in 2003. Since then, I have been assisting families with funeral services, cremation services, pre-planning of funeral services, and their monument needs.

I was born in Troy, Ohio, and raised in West Milton, Ohio. As a junior in High School, I began my career in the funeral industry at Hale-Sarver Funeral Home in West Milton. I graduated from Milton-Union High School in 1988.  After high school, I attended Wright State University in Dayton for my undergraduate studies. Following my time at Wright State, I studied at the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science where I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Mortuary Science and became a licensed embalmer in 1992. Upon graduation, I returned to the Hale-Sarver Funeral Home to serve my apprenticeship and obtain my Ohio Funeral Directors License.  I was employed as a licensed funeral director at the Hale-Sarver Funeral Home for eleven years. After many years of service at Hale-Sarver, a new opportunity guided my decision to move my family to serve as a funeral director in Celina. We are proud to have called Celina home for 20 years.

Community service has always been a large part of my life. Professionally, I am a member of the Ohio Funeral Directors Association and the Ohio Embalmers Association.  I also pride myself on being an active member of the Celina community on a personal level as well.  I have been a Lions Club member for over 31 years, supporting all of their efforts in “Sight First” projects.  My membership with the Lions Club started in West Milton. Upon moving to Celina, I transferred my membership to the Celina Lions Club in 2003.  I am also an active member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, where I serve as an usher and volunteer with the Immaculate Conception Festival efforts benefiting the Immaculate Conception School. I am a member of the Celina Knight of Columbus Council #1800 and serve on the Home Corp. Board for Council #1800. I am also on the board of directors for the Mercer County Pheasants Forever #745 and enjoy all of their efforts in conservation and educating the youth of Mercer County.

I have two wonderful daughters who were raised in Celina. My oldest daughter, Mackenzie, married Luke Rolfes in 2021 and is a Surgical Nurse at Lima Memorial Hospital. In addition to working at the hospital, Mackenzie works part-time locally at The Gardens in Celina.  My youngest daughter, Camaryn, is a third-grade teacher at Celina Elementary School. They both reside in Celina.
