Richard Howard Deere

Richard Howard Deere, age 70 of Celina, Ohio passed away on Thursday, April 13, 2023 at the Mercer County Community Hospital. He was born on Feb. 13, 1953 in Urbana, Ohio to the late Robert E. & Betty Louise (Coil) Deere. On June 8, 1974, he married Kim Nguyen, who survives living in Celina. He is also survived by his children Linda (Daniel) Piercy of Columbus, Michael (Amanda) Deere of Columbus, Steven (Emily) Deere of Celina, four grandchildren Karina, Hudson, Cheyenne, and Charlotte. His brother Terry (Denise) Deere of Oxford, sisters Carolyn (Bill) Smith of Celina and Sandy Slusser of Decatur, IN.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents and his brother-in-law Robin Slusser.
He was a 1971 graduate from Urbana High School. Proudly served his country in the United States Army Until 1974. He received his Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Design from the Wright State University. Richard was a graphic designer for Huffy's Bicycle in Celina until 1998.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 A.M. on Monday, April 17, 2023 at the Lehman-Dzendzel Funeral Home, with Rev. Randy Christian officiating. Burial will follow in the North Grove Cemetery in Celina, with Military Honors provided by the American Legion Post #210 and the V. F. W. Post #5713 of Celina.
